Why Stock Concentrate Is Better For Cooking & The Budget

There’s no trickery in the Urban Forager's jars of stock, just real ingredients bursting with flavour & nutrients. Each jar contains 100% real ingredients: Vegetables, meat (chicken & beef stocks), herbs, spices, apple cider vinegar, olive oil and lake salt.  That’s it. Simple. Real. Nutritious.. Delicious. Aside from all that good stuff we love their ethos;

In Sustainability: They love the earth.  They continually strive to reduce their footprint In Creativity: At the heart of everything they do In Love: It makes everything taste better In Integrity: They are uncompromising in their commitment to customers and the planet.

We also love that their products are;

  • 99% Australian ingredients

  • Locally produced

  • No fillers like rice or corn flour, no msg or yeast extract

  • Gluten, Dairy and sugar free

  • Preservative free

  • Palm Oil Free

  • Organic Certification

  • Low food mile

  • Plastic free

  • Makes 10 Litres which is good for the environment and the budget!

Now let's talk a little about that... typically an organic chicken stock can cost at the budget end $3.75 - $16.00 per litre at the premium end. Where as concentrate works out to be $1.65 - $1.99 per litre!

The dollar savings are massive over a year, not to mention the waste savings in packaging for every litre you cook with.

Did you know most stock cubes & concentrates are about 3-4% vegetables?  They’re full of fillers & flavour enhancers like rice and corn flour, sugar, yeast extract and msg..

Urban Forager Organic Stock Concentrates are made from 100% pure ingredients. They’re just plain old natural, healthy vegetables, herbs, meat, spices, cider vinegar, olive oil & salt. Being certified organic, you can also be sure our ingredients are free from artificial pesticides and herbicides and grown the way nature intended.

Urban Forager loves working with organic farmers to ensure they bring you farm fresh ingredients of the highest quality.  They work hard to source ingredients as close to them in Fremantle, Western Australia, as possible.

The apple cider vinegar is raw unfiltered vinegar from Pemberton; the grassfed organic beef comes from Mumballup; the olive oil is from GinGin; and use vegetables from the Gasgoyne and South West of WA when they can.  Organic chicken has been difficult to source in WA so they use Inglewood free range, organic chicken from Queensland.

Lastly, why I choose concentrate over liquid stock is taste & flavour. Once you have tried you will never go back!
